In the Governor's Press Release on November 20, 2024, the Governor and Commissioner recognized Portsmouth Middle School as the leader for the highest attendance rate in the state this week for middle schools! This is an incredible accomplishment, and it reflects the dedication and hard work each of you has put into supporting our students.
This success is a direct result of our collective efforts - from our November school-wide PBIS advisory focus on attendance, to our random attendance Patriot Pillar days throughout the month recognizing students who are here, and the clear communication we’ve maintained with students and families about our expectations, it is working! For those needing an extra boost of support our Check and Connect intervention is in place to help push students out of the chronically absent range. To those who have been a part of our bi-weekly attendance meetings (Jay Masterson, Lisa Goodwin, Julie Anania Alex Iadevaia, Mae Naron, Kelley Reilly, Laura Hosley, Katelyn Worthen, Beth Farley, Tara Joncas, Ryan Marsland, and Bethany Pritchard) analyzing data, creating systems and leading the charge, thank you! All of these initiatives are clearly making a positive impact.
We are currently 42 in the state, reaching our goal of making it to the top 50 schools on the State Attendance Leaderboard!
Thank you for everything you do to help create an environment where students want to show up and succeed.
Let's continue to lead the state!
